Discover Drums! Learning Percussion and Drum Circle*
Join us to experience what music making can be like as part of a real drum circle! No prior experience is needed, and all instruments and materials are provided by the Tacoma Youth Symphony Association. Through these classes, you’ll learn the basics of playing percussion instruments, try out instruments such as a djembe, frame drum, talking drum, and more! Grow your drum skills in this fun and engaging environment.

Life Stories: The Art of Memoir*
Students will learn the techniques used by writers – dialogue, narrative, tension, etc. – to craft successful memoirs. This 6-week class, running October 8 – November 12, will include study and discussion of effective memoirs and writing exercises designed to help students tell their stories.

In celebration of the Franke Tobey Jones Centennial this year, we are proud to announce the first ever Pacific Northwest Senior Writer’s Showcase as part of Franke Tobey Jones Senior University. Join us for this evening of awards and readings to recognize these wonderful authors.
