AGESTRONG Fall Prevention
Tuesday, September 10 2pm Wellness Center
Occupational Therapist Julie Moore will be discussing strategies to reduce and recover from falls in your home and community. She specializes in advice on identifying hazards as well as adaptive equipment suggestions to improve safety. There will be a live demonstration of fall recovery and a question and answer session following her presentation.
Cultural Cuisine- Musubi Workshop
Thursday, September 12 2pm Wellness Center
Whether you’re in Hawaii or on the mainland – Homemade Spam Musubi is the best! Cut planks of rich and salty canned spam are pan-fried until golden, then glazed in a simple teriyaki-style sauce. We will be doing a hands-on workshop where everyone will be making their own musubi with different ingredients, vegetarian options available.
Support Group For People Whose Partners Have Dementia
Wednesday, September 18 3pm
Join us for a gathering of a support group focused specifically for those who are assisting a loved one with Dementia. You must RSVP with Sarah Doerner to reserve your spot and receive the location. This meeting is capped at 12 people.
Mindfulness Walk in the Park
Thursday, September 19 10am Meet at Bistro
Starting in front of the Bistro, we will venture to Point Defiance then across the Wilson bridge down to the Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park and back. You must be able to walk this distance without staff assistance. Optional detour: On our way back we will stop at the Wren’s Nest Baking Co. for a delicious treat & conversation.
Acrylic Pours- Acrylic Skins on Small Glass Jars (Made possible by a generous donation to the Holistic Wellness program)

In this class you will learn easy-to-follow steps in using acrylic paint skins to decorate small jars. Skins are essentially the dried paint that is left over from using acrylic paint. All materials will be provided.
