Janet McGiffin will be at the Senior Center to discuss and sign her book Betrothal and Betrayal, the first book in the Empress Irini series. There are four books in the series; however, the last book has yet to be released.
Cuba Travel Presentation – June 24, 1:00pm
Join us for a presentation on our scheduled trip to Cuba, The travel dates are October 13, 2025 through October 18.

Walking with Ron – Tuesdays June – September, 2:00pm
Join Ron Yaden as he leads a walking group which starts at Baltimore Park.
Dog Walk with Kate and Hershey – Wednesdays June – September, 2:30pm
Join Kate and Hershey for a brief walk in Baltimore Park (weather permitting). Bring your fur-baby or come by yourself. All are welcome!
Pickleball – Mondays June – September, 10:00am
Pickleball is back! If you would like to play Pickleball on other days of the week, you are welcome to come by the office and sign the equipment out. Equipment must be returned on the same day prior to closing unless you are wanting it for the weekend.
Pinochle Tournament – June 8, 10:00 am
Play Pinochle? Come join the tournament that is being held on Saturday, June 8, at 10:00 a.m. Cost is $10 to participate and includes your entry in the tournament and lunch. There will also be cash prizes for the first and second place winners. Let’s have some fun!
Tax Assistance
AARP Tax Volunteers are still available, even after April 15. If you still need you taxes done, Tax Preparers will be onsite the second Monday at 1:00 p.m. Appointments are required, and can be made over the phone or by stopping by the Center (253) 756-0601.

Welcome to the beginning of summer! We hope everyone is taking advantage of all the sunny days and finding ways to get outside. Our garden enthusiast here at the center have been busy tilling, planting, and watering so that our participants will have beautiful flowers and other plants to enjoy in our small, raised bed garden. We hope our participants will take time to sit outside and enjoy the lovely outdoor atmosphere they have created.
Here are some of the great activities we have planned for the month of June.
Craft: Collaged Picture Frame – Monday June 3, 11:00am
Join Diana in making collaged picture frames using various patterned papers.
Father’s Day Celebration – Thursday June 13, 10:00am
We will be celebrating all of our dads this year with root beer floats, Frito Pies and the telling of “Dad Jokes”. Make sure to register in advance for this event.
Juneteenth Lunch – Wednesday June 19, 12:00pm
Catholic Community Services will be closed this day, so we will be having a Potluck along with Franke Tobey Jones providing sack lunches at a cost of $3.50 per lunch. All FTJ lunches will need to be paid for in advance.
Interactive Workshop – Tuesday June 25, 12:45pm
This month’s workshop will feature a local handyman, Steve Minor, from 911 Handyman Services.
Country Shindig! and Independence Day Party. – Wednesday June 26, 1:00pm
Come enjoy live country music from 1pm to 3pm in celebration of the upcoming 4th of July holiday.
We hope to see all the familiar faces as well as a lot of new ones for all these upcoming events.
