With a generous FTJ resident donation, the beautiful Bruda Family Suite in our Care Center has been furnished for any resident or community member in need of end-of-life Hospice care. This two-room living area includes new sleeping recliners, a coffee maker, games, cards and other cozy amenities that provide a tranquil and comfortable environment for the person receiving Hospice care and their family members who wish to stay close by.
“We have needed a dedicated Hospice room for so long, and this amazing gift from a resident in honor of her husband is deeply appreciated,” says Shelley Harris, FTJ Director of Philanthropy. “It was an incredibly touching moment to hear someone say they wish there had been a designated Hospice Suite and a coffee maker while sitting bedside nearly a year ago, and that they wanted to make sure other families in the future had that comforting space. This generous and heartfelt gesture will ensure a more peaceful experience during a difficult time.”
The Bruda Family Suite is in a perfect location and layout for both a person receiving Hospice care and their family members to have privacy, yet important connection during these difficult days. “Becky Stroud, a retired professional stager, generously volunteered her time to design, shop for and decorate this beautiful room,” commented Michelle Olfason, FTJ Director of Admissions. “She was very excited to be part of this project because Hospice holds a special and personal place in her heart.”
On behalf of Franke Tobey Jones, residents and families, we extend our thanks and gratitude to this thoughtful donor and her family. This perfect gift also reflects our FTJ Promise to “Make Every Day Meaningful” for everyone throughout our continuum of care.
