International Folk Dance Class –Begins January 2
Taught by Fred Maragheh, this class starts January 2nd. The class will be every two weeks, at 1:15 p.m. There is no cost, but we ask that you register by calling 253-756-0601 or stop by the Senior Center.
New iPad Class – Begins January 8
Begins Monday, January 8. If you are interested, please register at 253-756-0601. The class is a four-week series at 10:00 a.m.
Probate and Alternatives Class – January 16
Attorney Elizabeth Johnson will be presenting a class on probate and alternatives to them on Tuesday, January 16, at 10:00 a.m. This is a free class.
Do you like Spaghetti? January 26
If so, join us on Friday, January 26, at 11:00 a.m. for Spaghetti Feed and Line Dancing. The cost is $9 for all you can eat spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert, and wine. Line dancing starts at 11:00 a.m. with Maryanne Ellis, lunch at noon. Registration required. There is a minimum attendance so register now!

Lighthouse Senior Center

We wrapped up 2023 with a fabulous holiday party, including participants singing along to ukulele music played by the volunteers at Ted Brown Music. The city of Tacoma came a few days later and generously provided gift baskets to participants. We’re excited to ring in the New Year!
In January we are celebrating our dedicated volunteers who work diligently to make Lighthouse a home away from home. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to serve our many participants.
Craft Class – January 9
Join us for a special class where we’ll show you how to make foil relief art. Our craft classes have been popular, so please contact us to sign up in advance for this 10:00am class.
Interactive Workshops: Preparing for Continuing Life Changes – January 11
We are partnering with a variety of specialists to provide information and answer questions about such topics as insurance, mortgage, and estate planning options. The first workshop on the 11th at 10:15 will be an overview and each month there will be a new workshop about a specific topic. Don’t miss this series!
Beanbag Baseball – January 18
We played our first couple games in November and December. It was a big hit! Participants have been asking when our next game will be. Get ready for camaraderie, friendly competition, and lots of laughter at 10:00am.
Learn About the Senior Friend and Care Pairs Programs – January 25
These programs promote social engagement for those over 60 who are homebound. Join us at 11:00am if you are interested in these services or would like to be a volunteer for these programs.
Volunteer Appreciation Party – January 30
The party will bring together all of our volunteers so that we may give thanks for all the time they dedicate to the Lighthouse. The party will begin at 11:30am.

Bring your pictures and make memories in our Scrapbooking class being held on Thursday, January 11, at 12:30pm.
Birthday Dance – January 16
Our birthday dance is held the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00am
Senior Friends – January 26
Wendy Morris from MultiCare will be joining us on Friday, January 26, at 11:00am to provide us with information about the Senior Friends program.
Beachball Volleyball – Starting January 5
Have fun playing Beachball volleyball, held every Friday at 10:00am
