Ann Edington
Ann recalls first visiting Franke Tobey Jones in 1936 (when she was about 3 years old) to visit her great aunt and her husband, Emily (Kim) and Oscar Peterson. They were living in the original Tobey Jones building. Ann’s family had come to say goodbye because they were moving to Washington, DC so that her father, already an attorney, could attend a special course in patent law. At that time, it was the only course in patent law in the country. Her family returned to Washington state in 1940.
Ann remembers that there were French doors between the living room and bedroom in the Tobey Jones apartment. She was impressed and has liked French doors ever since! (And there are still French doors from the solarium to the FTJ dining area.) (Interviewed by Ann Martin)
